Thank you Evan.

I hope you can confirm that the shown speaker has 8 Ohm impedance as my second speaker in my ASW-27 beside the head rest. That way I will be able to hook it up to the CN which would be a nice and clean solution.

with regards

Are you asking if you can connect CN and something else (e.g. radio) to the same speaker?

Short answer: No!

CN's audio circuit is unusual (at least to this analog circuits tinkerer).  It isn't analog and neither side is common.  The speaker is driven by high frequency digital pulses.  This is also the reason that a simple divider cannot be used to make an auxilliary output.

No worries Evan.
I used that speaker in the past for the SNAV vario and it's currently not connected to anything.
Now that the impedance is the same - I will just hook it up with the CN output.
That places the acoustic output just beside my head - perfect.

I installed the accessory speaker yesterday.  It's large enough to be a potential head scratcher and be forewarned that it has a substantial magnet.  I found space behind my panel where it wouldn't mess with the compass too badly (I don't use it, but the FAA insists...).  It does have excellent audio projection.  Check the volume, found under /ribbon/personal settings/airspace/sua alarms/audio alarms.  #5 works well.  It's loud, it's clear, it sounds like a human speaking to you (urgently).
