A rule change to ATA tasks allows pilots to depart the start circle out the "back" (the half circle farthest from the first turn area.)  It happened that after I exited and had a valid start, I re-entered the start area and exited again.  As one might expect, CN gave me a new start but that eliminates the miles accumulated transiting the miles inside the start circle and negating the reason for leaving out the back, which was to take advantage of a longer downwind leg.

Although the scorer will use the start that gives the best result, I do not know which it will be and therefore have to choose the later start and fly longer, possibly in weaker conditions at the end of the day.

If I were to "undo last start" would that mean that CN would calculate everything based on the first start?

Thanks.  I have wondered what that was for.  Never had it happen before.

I use frequently for starts out the top of a US gate that are followed by a start out the side.
