Oudie has a nice feature which allows replacing the FLARM ID Code with readable names / pilot names and displayed on the screen. I this feature eventually planned to be added to CNII?

You could note your friend's radio ID and register them at flarmnet, then download flarmnet database... 8)

This was somewhere in the list of things I gave Rex several months ago.

Thanks Evan
At competitions the FLARMnet solution does not work
That only works with friends ;-)

If you want to play the flarm game in competition hard, CN2 won't quite get you there (and probably neither will any other single device in 2018).  You need to be able to ID your contacts by tail number, you need to be able to plot them on a map w.r.t. terrain, you need to know relative altitude, distance, climb rate and you may well want to be able to mark their present location (e.g. 9 knot thermal on a blue day -- they will surely be gone by the time you arrive).

You can do most of this with the combination of CN2 and an LXNav flarmview(57).  Some of these things may be best left to 2 seat gliders, at least for the present.

It is a significant game changer.

FLARM target display on CNII screen

Quote: relative altitude, distance, climb rate

The last SW version did show relative altitude and climb rate  :)
The new version shows ^_.. arrows instead of relative height  :(
The relative altitude display of FLARM targets was better than the angular information.
I wouldn't call it an improvement - a tickbox would be nice to choose what to display  ;)

Multiple options is what we should have, yes.

Just had some flights with my friend in THE ASG 32 MI.
No one seems happy with the flarm target displayed with arrows.
Especially the closer the target on similar height the arrow just gets flat without giving you an indication if it's still higher or lower. Nerve wrecking if you did not spot the target yet.

I agree.  I have flarmview 57 in my cockpit as well, and numbers work better for me.  FV has other issues... but the combination of FV and CN2 works okay.
