Modification RAM mount to Tunnel mount
« on: August 07, 2016, 10:10:04 PM »
Good day,
I agreed to build a new panel for an ASH-26E - what don't you do for a good mate with two left thumbs ;-)
Currently he flies with a double-hinged RAM mounted CNII, connected to the CNv with the Navigation display.
I will change that to a tunnel mount to get enough space for the other instruments.
My tunnel mount version from 3 years ago was pretty complicated to install, looks like to new one is different.
  • Is the new tunnel mount now connecting to the bezel front plate?
  • If so - can the bezel mount be ordered separately and mounted to an existing CNII?
And by the way - where do I find the dimensions / PDF template for the vario Nav Display?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

The new tunnel mount connects directly to the LCD display... and that has to be done at CNi (sorry about that...).  Cost to retrofit to an existing CNII is $140 plus shipping.

NAV fits in a standard 57mm instrument cutout, case is 68mm square.

Thanks Evan - the CNd will be on its way end of this week.
:) :) I checked - only with the tunnel mount I'm able to fit it into the small ASH26 panel.
