Waypoint and airspace details (again)
« on: September 12, 2016, 10:43:12 AM »
We should be able to read more of the details of airports and airspace in the bottom right corner of CN2.
Much of the detail is not displayed. If even small detail is entered as one line it does not wrap.
Lost are minor things like Restricted Area times and frequencies.
Lost are runway details like width, nice to know if you'd like to keep the wing tips intact.
PLEASE consider the "scrollable comments area" feature request from July 2013.
(CN2 using TXT and STX files generated on soaringdata.info, automatic comment detail)

Perhaps I don't desire as much info since I have not felt shorted on the info available.   Another possibility,  could the problem be in how the data base is created even before John gets it ready for posting?

Mojave and R4811 details as seen on CN are attached as examples of a few hundred items with truncated details in the databases.

Using CN, what's the AWOS frequency at Mojave? The hours that the tower is open?
In the airspace example, on what days are R4811 active? The contact frequency?
Useful information. Yesterday (Sunday) we flew through R4811 and had flight following through R2505.
Here's the offending line from the illustrated airspace example.

R4811 0800-1500 LCL MON-FRI 125.75

That should fit easily, even in the tiny box allocated for details.
The warning area of the screen as you approach Restricted areas is huge in comparison. The frequency or frequencies appear in those warnings but close enough for a warning may be a bit late for ATC contact.
