Upload task

Is it possible to prepare a task, say on Seeyou, then upload it onto Clearnav?

I've been lobbying for that one for a long time .

Not yet.

I'm hopeful that it makes the to-do list this (Northern Hemisphere) Winter.

So, the only way to create a task is to scroll through the way points in the data base, and it doesn't even give you an alphabet block to speed the process?

That's pretty clunky!!

Use Zoom+ and Zoom- to move rapidly through the list.

Edit: Zoom+ and Zoom- are used on most screens to increment/decrement whatever qty is being adjusted with up/down arrows, faster.  Turnpoint radii, ballast, bugs, start & finish heights and so forth.

Thanks for the tip- still a pretty clunky interface.

I might not see the whole picture here, but if you have the XC license you can prepare a task in Seeyou, save the task with waypoints as a .cup file on a USB stick, and read it into the ClearNav Vario via the usb port. Then goto tasks in Cnv and activate / declare it..

And if you have an Oudie connected via the serial interface you can set a task on your Oudie and just upload.

That's true.  But unfortunately the same functionality is not available in the CN2 flight computer.

For a Badge or Record task, it would be great to upload exactly the same task to both CNv and CNII. Doing so from a thumb drive would be great!

I would be happy if the task that I load into ClearNav would be transferred to the CNv.  In contests, we don't get the task until we are already on the grid and to have to bring a computer to put the task in SeeYou is more trouble that it's worth.

So it is nearly Spring 2017.  Did the ability to upload tasks make it into the winter software updates?

Not in time for *this* badge and record season.  If there's any work in progress on CN2 at this moment, I don't know about it.

I would love to have this too.  All of my record attempts have custom waypoints to create triangles with the right distances, minimize difficult transitions, etc. etc.

Rex and I have discussed some longer range ideas for CNv, but none for CN2.  I think it's safe to say that he's busy trying to get acquainted with what it is he just bought.

Thanks for an honest report, Evan. Keep trying--the squeaky wheel gets the grease.  ;D
